As a result of increased awareness of environmental risks and in the interest of protecting the public health and the environment, the cost of owning and/or operating solid and/or liquid waste landfills has risen dramatically over the last two decades.  Therefore, landfill operators must now place an emphasis on system designs that will not only satisfy the minimum regulatory requirements but will yield environmental protection at minimum cost.  Since its inception, Geo-Logic has completed analyses at over three hundred landfill facilities in the Southwestern United States.  In completing these studies we have assembled a specialized team of professionals with a demonstrated ability to realize the often divergent goals of environmental protection and cost control.

Perhaps the most striking example of our ability to identify and pursue cost effective designs is our unique position as a leader in the investigation, analysis and approval of alternative final covers for southwestern municipal solid waste landfills.  While dramatically simpler and more cost effective than a typical prescriptive final cover, these systems may actually perform better. Geo-Logic was not only the first private company in California to investigate and pursue approval of these covers but has been instrumental in their evaluation and approval throughout California, Arizona and Nevada.

Geo-Logic’s innovative style has also been successfully used in what is often perceived as more routine landfill studies including:
geologic, geotechnical and environmental hazards analysis, complete geotechnical and hydrogeologic site characterization, CEQA compliance, materials evaluations, liner designs (including prescriptive alternatives), slope stability analyses integrating site-specific seismology, definition of a groundwater monitoring programs capable of safeguarding state waters and regulatory permitting.  When combined with the design and engineering capabilities of our affiliate, Bryan A. Stirrat & Associates, we provide for all facets of a waste disposal program.
